Kadaklan
ChARACTER DESIGN dEVELOPMENT
Comic character designed for a school project. Kadaklan is a superhero based from a mythological character from the Tinguian indigenous group of the Northern part of the Philippines, a thunder god with the same name.
Just like some superheroes, before he got his superpowers, Kadaklan or Dakila Trueno was just a normal high schooler.
Kadaklan or Dakila's design was highly based on the Northern Philippines' indigenous groups' clothing and textiles. His hair was based from their head dresses, the stripes from the textile patterns, and loincloth from the tribes' bahag clothing.

His name Dakila Trueno or Dakila T. was an anagram for "kidlat" which means lightning in Filipino, and his surname "Trueno" means Thunder in Spanish (why? spanish colonization duh?)
